It was one of the hardest things I had done. After some soul searching, I realized nursing was my passion and dived in head first. I tried a few different majors, all of which I did well with, but I never felt fulfilled. My friends and family thought I would be an excellent nurse, to which I refused. Because I was so sick as a teenager, I was pretty repulsed by the health profession going into college. Memory two was the day that I graduated from nursing school. The in-sickness-and-in-health vow has such a deep meaning for us. He had seen me at my worst, and I was so happy to pledge my best to him.
After telling him, his only reply was, “so, this doesn’t change my feelings for you.” One and a half years into our relationship, he traveled with me from Arkansas to the Cleveland Clinic so that I could have a J pouch developed. I was scared to death to tell him, but after being together for 6 months, he deserved to know. When Steven and I first got together, I had an ostomy and was very private about it. I really didn’t know what to put it in my story, so I asked my husband and he said, “ of the 15 years that you’ve had this disease, what 3 things stand out to you?” It only took me a few seconds and I was surprised with what I came up with.įirst…the day that I got married. But most of my experiences will sound similar to the ones you have already heard or been through yourself. I could talk about the times I’ve risen above the suffering, or the times this disease has nearly broken me.

I could tell you about all 15 plus surgeries I have had, or funny stories about my many different ostomies. You will become stronger than you ever imagined possible, and you will survive things that would make most people buckle. You will develop an excellent sense of humor about your situation that makes others squirm. What you eat (and when!) becomes more complicated that you ever thought possible. Taking a trip means plotting all the bathrooms on your route. There will be days when you almost feel normal, and it’s the last thing on your mind. IBD sucks! There will be days when you want to give up. But our stories share a common thread, one that I believe will provide a glimpse of hope, enough to bring you to tomorrow. Your pain is your pain, as is your story. While I can relate, I cannot share your pain. Sitting down and trying to write “my” story has not been as easy as I thought it would be. I am now to the point that I only have distant memories of life before. For over 15 years, I have carried this disease with me. My name is Brittainy, and I have ulcerative colitis. I know many of you have been anticipating it for a while.I was nominated and selected as the local honored hero for my areas Take Steps for a Cure for Crohns and Colitis Walk this year. They were so badly stained that I had to throw the jeans away too. My panties were completely ruined, and my jeans had a very large brown stain in the butt which ran down the insides of the legs. I went to the bathroom and inspected the damage done to my jeans and panties. I didn’t stop at all on the way home, and when I walked in the front door, Jekobi was playing a game on the PS2, and Abi was behind the couch wearing chest waders, pushing a big crackly load of poop out. It felt great as the massive poop bulge was smashed as I sat down. Hearing this, I quickly waddled back out of the station and got in my car. I then went to the ticket desk and asked where the bathroom was. There were two twin sisters, seemingly around 15 or 16, who were just staring at me with a mix of shock, disgust, and empathy. The whole time I hadn’t turned around, which I now did. The liquid poop quickly stained the back of my jeans and ran down my legs into my boots.

There was a pause of a few seconds, then another very wet fart, followed by a torrent of liquid poop. I didn’t even have to push, as two more logs forced their way out. I felt only a slight relief, as there was a lot more to come. Immediately I let out a very wet fart, and a huge log of poop crackled out, making a huge bulge in my jeans. I went to the waiting area, and as soon as I was in a good spot, I opened up. Heading inside, it was crowded, and I now had a plan. So, I drove down to the Amtrak station, where a train was scheduled to arrive in a few minutes. However, I decided I wanted a large audience, and there weren’t many people there. I drove to a seafood place downtown, and as soon as I got out of my car, I felt an immense amount of pressure in my bowels.
On the day, I had a hard time keeping it in, especially when I heard Jekobi recording a video and noisily pooping her pants while she did so. Leading up to the day, I ate a lot of high-fiber foods and didn’t poop for about a week. As promised, here is my story of when I pooped my pants in the city a few weeks ago.
